Country Manager - Japan

The Country Manager will expand Taboola’s business and operations in the country by creating sales strategy define road-map, build partnerships and generate revenue. We are looking for a leader who can execute quickly, operate independently, and who’s not afraid to get their hands dirty.
Responsibilities

  • Generate new business and manage a robust pipeline and accurately forecast new business closure rate
  • Close business with both publishers and advertisers. Manage pipeline and forecasts
  • Strategy development - build strategic partnerships with customers.
  • Identifying  the right stakeholders for each product without digressing from a coherent product message and overall strategy
  • Have an  excellent understanding of digital advertising technology, video, and publisher revenue ecosystem to be able to explain product benefits within this context
  • Work closely with head of region to consistently achieve and exceed revenue goals
  • Interact with AM and our project implementation team to effectively manage client expectations
  • Convey feedback from clients to Taboola’s product team in regards to product development needs
  • Oversee all operations within Japan including taking responsibility for sales, trade shows, roadshows, and quality targets set by the company
  • Build, lead, manage and motivate the local sales organisation

Requirements:

  • +7 years in a key sales position with strong leadership skills
  • Proven ability to penetrate new markets and learn new industry
  • Well connected within the local market, either advertiser or publisher and display impeccable local market understanding
  • Experience independently building, pursuing and closing a large pipeline of leads
  • Technologically Savvy – ability to learn what is needed to support deal’s successful implementation and optimization
  • Excellent networking skills with a proven ability to develop long-lasting relationships with customers
  • Ability to deliver the highest standards of customer service
  • A solid understanding of budgeting and business planning is essential
  • Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels, including people-management, leadership and both written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding and sensitivity towards cultural differences

We are looking for a high performing and driven Media Sales Manager to grow Taboola’s content supply. The Media Sales Manager in Japan will be expected to identify, engage and cement partnerships in order to expand and diversify offered content. The candidate should be a strong, deal-oriented professional who can source, prospect and structure content marketing deals independently.

Responsibilities and skills: 

  • Understanding of digital technology & revenue ecosystem and explain product benefits within this context
  • Well connected with media suppliers in Japan
  • Sell multiple products to clients by finding the right stakeholders for each product, without digressing from a coherent product message and overall strategy
  • Manage a robust pipeline and accurately forecast new business closure rate and revenue booked
  • Work closely with  Japan country manager and the Japanese team to consistently achieve and exceed revenue goals.
  • Interact with the Account Management team to effectively manage client expectations and ensure successful campaign management
  • Convey field intelligence to product management teams in regard to development features
  • Independently build a large pipeline of leads, pursue them and close deals.
  • Manage presentations, build relationships and negotiate contracts within the Japan Market

 
Requirements: 

  • 3 years in a sales position, preferably at a digital media company, working with Japanese clients.
  • Significant experience in structuring and negotiating deals, such experience within the digital media space in Japan – a great advantage
  • A true passion for online content, and a strong sales drive with an ability to build strategic partnerships
  • Strong analytical skills to collect business intelligence by conversing with clients and monitoring/identifying trends in data and in generated reports
  • Excellent technological skills and ability to quickly learn what is needed to support the campaigns successful implementation and optimization
  • Excellent written and conversational in Japanese and English.

We are hiring a freelance editor to focus on content intended for our Japanese market. In this assignment,

  • You will be responsible for reviewing news, and articles, and selecting items to include in the news feed offered to end users.
  • You must be well-versed in the Japanese realm of news, entertainment, politics, and popular culture, preferably an experienced journalist or editor from a digital media organization that focuses on a largely Japanese audience.
  • The editor/reviewer will be responsible for selecting articles to ensure news feed offered to end users complies with the following guidelines:

  • Experience in structuring and negotiating deals with online publishers or media companies in Japan.
  • Experience independently building, pursuing and closing a large pipeline of leads with Japanese clients.
  • Technologically savvy with the ability to learn what is needed to support a deal’s successful implementation and optimisation.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, quickly changing environment and consistently learn, adapt, and develop.
