Taboola is a market leader globally with strong momentum and we continue to expand our presence in key markets.  Having entered into the Russian markets from our EMEA headquarters we are now looking to enter its next phase of growth by hiring a Country Manager for Russia to be based in Moscow. This is a real opportunity to have a rapid impact on Taboola’s expansion into the local market, and to own and lead the strategy there.
In order to be successful, the Country Manager will need to combine strategic and commercial acumen with a ‘lead by example’ attitude, and an ability to scale a business.
With a strong and growing team, we have already made significant progress in the market and have signed exclusive and long term partnerships with leading Publishers such as Hearst Shkulev, Mia Rossiya Segodnya and others.  Our advertisers include major brand names such as skyscanner, booking.com, intel, kaspersky, and hundreds more.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Build, motivate & lead the Russian sales and account management organisation
  • Be a focal point of communication for the Taboola Russia publisher business, prioritising business opportunities and product initiatives  
  • Help close new business with premium Russian Advertisers & Publishers
  • Manage team pipelines and forecasts for the territory
  • Build strategic partnerships with customers from Directors up to C-Level
  • Work closely with Head of Region & senior management to consistently achieve and exceed revenue goals
  • Interact with account directors, account managers and our solutions team to effectively deliver on client KPI's
  • Oversee all operations across the Russian team including taking responsibility for sales, trade shows, roadshows, and quality targets set by the company

Requirements:

  • Native/fluent Russian and English speaker
  • Extensive, senior-level experience in key sales positions, with strong leadership skills
  • Proven ability to penetrate new markets and learn new technologies
  • Results driven and an ability to lead by example when required
  • Have an excellent understanding of digital advertising technology, video, and publisher revenue ecosystems
  • Must be well connected within the Russian digital media market at a minimum, either advertiser or publisher and display impeccable local market understanding.
  • Experienced in independently building, pursuing and closing a large pipeline of leads
  • Excellent networking skills with a proven ability to develop long-lasting relationships with customers
  • Experience selling ad-tech solutions to C-levels in top leading brands and agencies
  • Experience in coaching and career planning across commercial teams
  • A solid understanding of budgeting and business planning is essential
  • Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels, including people-management, leadership and both written and verbal communication skills

As part of Taboola’s Publisher Sales team, you would be expected to:-
> identify and establish long-term partnerships with the leading online publishers in Russia> develop relationships with all internal stakeholders up to C-level (from Editorial to Business Development to Sales to product/R&D)> understand each publisher's challenges, tailor proposals to suit their needs, and effectively communicate the benefits of Taboola to their business> construct complex deals with a long sales cycle (up to six months), responding to publishers needs and goals and establishing the basis for a long and mutually-beneficial partnership> work with account managers and directors to create lasting and profitable relationships with Publishers> maintain a healthy pipeline of prospects, providing accurate forecasting and reporting to management> consistently achieve and exceed revenue goals> take ownership of your market and increase awareness of Taboola in Russia> proactively seek market feedback on the Taboola platform and work with product team to help develop market-leading functionality
Requirements:
> native Russian essential> sales experience in the digital media space OR broader tech space> past experience with Russian digital landscape> proven communication, presentation, phone etiquette and general sales skills> ability to quickly absorb product information and relay value propositions to prospects and clients> able to present in front of VP-level execs> detail oriented and analytical sales person to build and maintain sales funnel and optimize sales process> strong analytical skills to collect business intelligence by conversing with clients and monitoring/identifying trends in data and generated reports> the will and ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment> comfortable 'thinking outside the box' and proposing and executing new ways of working to guarantee Taboola's success in this market
