Taboola is looking for a commercial, tech savvy Publisher Account Manager to join our fast growing team in Beijing , to be focused on our China Publisher clients.  Taboola is one of the fastest growing global start-ups in digital media and the leader in content recommendation. Our account managers are recognized as the best in the industry and are essential to the ongoing growth of our business.
China is a large and crucial market for us as we grow and your clients would be among China leading publishers.  You would be responsible for the successful implementation and launch of the Taboola content discovery platform across China. You would be tracking performance and providing regular strategic direction for new opportunities to improve performance. The account management team is uniquely responsible for building and optimising existing relationships by identifying and presenting new initiatives to publishers to improve performance and revenues.
 
Responsibilities and skills:

  • Manage and grow relationships with premium publisher clients and strategic partners in China
  • Understand the organisation’s business needs and develop relationships at all levels
  • Monitor and analyse metrics and proactively take steps to improve results
  • Be an expert in Taboola’s platform and the benefits publishers gain by using it
  • Fully comprehend the technology, revenue ecosystem and client needs/requirements in order to intelligently identify new opportunities and upsell the platform
  • Work closely with the Publisher Sales teams as well as the remote R&D department in order to become a valuable resource and single point of contact to the client
  • Communicate business intelligence from clients to the product management team in regards to new product development features
  • Strategically support the Publisher Sales team in pre-sale proposal development

 Requirements:

  • Experience as an Account Manager working with Publishers in China 
  • Fluency in Mandarin and excellent communication in English 
  • Significant experience of using Excel to generate reports and manipulate data
  • Significant experience of creating presentation decks with PowerPoint
  • Outstanding relationship management and customer service skills
  • Patience and a structured approach to your work, appreciating that the sales cycle can take much longer in the Publisher space compared to others.
  • Very strong analytical skills to collect business intelligence by conversing with clients and monitoring/identifying trends in data and in generated reports
  • Highly motivated, proactive, dedicated, resourceful and creative to ensure your clients receive world class service
  • High attention to detail, organized and with strong communication skills
  • Self-starter with the will and ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment

  • Focusing on top-tier publishers, commanding a large pipeline of prospective business while simultaneously closing key partnerships and uncovering new business opportunities.
  • Sell multiple Taboola products to clients by finding the right stakeholders for each product, without digressing from a coherent product message and overall strategy.
  • Develop and expand existing customer relationships at multiple levels and across multiple functions within each organization.
  • Manage a sales process inclusive of presentations, relationship-building, detailed analysis, deal structure, negotiation and close.

 
Requirements:

  • Demonstrate a deep knowledge of the China digital publishing landscape, an understanding of digital technology and revenue ecosystem
  • Native Mandarin speaker with experience structuring and negotiating deals with China digital publishers or media companies
  • Fluent in English
  • Proven communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Technology-savvy and able to learn quickly

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage Taboola’s China business opportunities on both the supply and the demand side both in mainland and international
  • Lead and continuously build a team of excellent performers in the China offices, promoting accountability, and execution.
  • Integrate Taboola’s new products into existing clients, and help bring about a new generation of products based on market feedback and a strategic reading of the needs in the market.
  • Become an integral part of the company’s Global Sales Management team providing input from the China market and implementing any decisions in the territory.
  • Create and implement a detailed, scalable business operating plan and deliver on monthly, quarterly and annual revenue and margin targets.

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of hands on experience of building and managing high performing sales teams
  • Experience working in a global company
  • Ability to effectively influence and communicate with a strong focus on collaboration
  • Well connected within the local market, either advertiser or publisher and display impeccable local market understanding
  • Proven track record of dealing at the CEO & CMO level particularly within the tech industry and the advertising world
  • Technologically Savvy – ability to learn what is needed to support deal’s successful
  • A self-starter, entrepreneur, able to manage conflicting priorities and ambiguity.
